To rely on; to depend on. 凭借、借势。 (e.g., rely on, depend on.) 本义: Borrowing, borrowing in, borrowing out. 造字法: Pictophonetic; composed of "person" (人) and the sound "xi" (昔). Synonyms: 1. Borrow ([En.] borrow) 2. Lend ([En.] lend) 3. Help ([En.] help) 引: 1. 《说文》: Borrow means to pretend. Zhu Junsheng says: it is a transfer of the character for "藉."
